Understanding Grief Counselling

Grief counselling is a therapy that assists in managing the impact of death or loss on their physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and mental well-being.

In counselling, you can talk about all the different emotions you might be feeling, such as anger, sadness, or guilt. Working through these emotions helps you navigate what has happened and feel less controlled by your grief. Many feel comforted and understood during grief counselling, which might be hard to find elsewhere.

It’s important to know that grief counselling isn’t just for those who are experiencing recent grief. Anyone who’s experienced loss, no matter how big or small, can benefit from talking to a counsellor. It gives you a space to face your grief and take the next steps towards healing.

Grief can touch anyone who’s lost something important. Whether you’re grieving a loved one’s death, dealing with a breakup, or facing any other big loss, we’re here to support you. Our counsellors are ready to support and guide you through this tough time.

I have been a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario since 2022. I have been trained as a Hypnotist since 2018, and offer it as optional therapy for those seeking a more holistic approach to their well-being.

In addition to Hypnotherapy, I also draw from a variety of experiential-based frameworks, including Brainspotting, Parts Therapy (Internal Family Systems), Body Psychotherapy, and mindfulness-based therapies. I have worked with individuals struggling with a range of challenges, including but not limited to perfectionism, anxiety, depression, panic, ADHD, trauma, stress, self-image, self-worth, career concerns, fertility, chronic illness, PTSD, relationship issues, fear of public speaking, performance anxiety, phobias, and addiction.

I believe in each individual's capacity to heal and will support you in your journey with a unique blend of experience and skills to help you toward self-discovery and growth through my practice.

When I am not working, I enjoy socializing in my dance community through West Coast Swing dancing, learning and studying, playing with my active Golden Retriever, reading, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.

I am here to listen and support you in your journey towards a more fulfilling life.

Making Moments Matter
If you've come across my biography, it's possible that the forces of the universe and the law of attraction are in motion. I genuinely believe, and my experiences have shown me, that there are moments in our lives when we are destined to cross paths and connect with a particular individual. For over a decade, I've had the privilege of being someone who establishes a unique counselling relationship right from day one. This foundation is built on trust, safety, and attunement, setting the stage for a collaborative healing journey. Sometimes we just need someone who “just gets it”.

By profession, I am a Registered Social Worker, and my therapeutic approach draws from my extensive training and certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Attachment and Attunement, and knowledge and understandings in Somatic Experiencing and Internal Family Systems. One size does not fit all in therapy too. As you'll discover, I am passionate about understanding what works best for you and how, together, we can explore and achieve your therapeutic goals.

What I hope I am relaying to you in this mini bio, is that there is hope, there is someone for you (whether it be me, or another helpful soul) who actually works in this profession because I care, because I have chosen to understand and specialize in making your life and healing moments matter.
